Let’s turn our attention to the 21-27 segment of the labor market…

Here’s the reality:

* Overall U.S. unemployment: 4.2%

* All college graduates: 3.1%

* Recent college graduates (22–27): 5.6%

* Young workers overall (22–27): 7.2%

That means:

–> recent college graduates are experiencing unemployment nearly 80% higher than all college graduates overall

–> young workers broadly are facing unemployment rates roughly 70% higher than the national average

Many soon-to-be and recent college graduates are entering:

–> frozen hiring environments

–> AI-driven role compression

–> “entry-level” jobs requiring 3–5 years of experience

–> hundreds or even thousands of applicants per posting

–> fewer true mentorship environments

At the same time, older, experienced professionals are also getting squeezed:

–> longer hiring cycles

–> age bias

–> restructuring

–> companies replacing senior operators with cheaper labor or AI-supported teams

That is exactly why the MMMM concept is strategically smart. Because the labor market has fragmented into:

— people with access/networks

And warm introductions increasingly matter more than résumés alone.
