MODA | Designing the Museum of the Future: A Conversation on Museums as Spaces for Liberation, Inclusion, and Progress
Museums are not only keepers of history—they are platforms for change. But what does the museum of the future look like? How can museums evolve to be more inclusive, liberatory, and responsive to the world around them?
Join MODA, M21D, and leading voices in culture and design for a dynamic conversation on how museums can drive progress. This discussion will explore:
- How audience expectations of museums and design have evolved over time.
- The role of museums in fostering equity, activism, and representation.
- What—and who—should be included in future collections.
- How the next generation of curators will shape the cultural landscape.
Panelists include:
- Fahamu Pecou, Artist & Executive Director of the African Diaspora Art Museum of Atlanta
- William Myers, Founder and Executive Director of M21D
- Laura Flusche, Executive Director of MODA

About MODA x M21D: Reimagining the Future Through Design
From February 20–23, MODA and M21D are co-hosting a series of visionary events exploring how design can shape a more just and equitable future. These interactive experiences invite participants to rethink the role of objects, storytelling, and cultural institutions in a rapidly evolving world. Presented with the generous support of the Consulate-General of the Netherlands in Atlanta.
Accessibility: Designers with different styles of learning or special needs are welcome in MODA public programs. We will be able to most effectively help everyone learn and enjoy this experience if we know about those needs in advance of the program. Please email miranda@museumofdesign.org with questions or information.
Cancellation Policy: MODA reserves the right to cancel a program if the minimum enrollment requirements are not met, but don’t worry: should MODA have to cancel, we will gladly issue a full refund to all registrants. If you need to cancel your plans for any reason, we kindly request that you notify us at least 7 days prior to the event start. By doing so, we can process a refund for the ticket cost (minus a small $10 processing fee per class). Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for cancellations made less than 7 days before an event.
Photo Disclaimer: Pictures and videos will be captured during MODA public programs and may be published on the official website, social media, and newsletters of the Museum of Design Atlanta. If you do not wish to appear on these platforms, please write to felicia@museumofdesign.org.
