Melissa is an account director, marketing and brand manager with extensive expertise creating and implementing the brand strategy, creative development, and program management in both B2B and B2C markets. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the financial services, national consumer goods, and quick service restaurant industries.
She has both agency and client-side experience and was most recently the VP of Marketing and Public Relations for an employee benefits firm. She managed marketing communications including strategy and market positioning, commercial and digital marketing, and public relations.
Melissa has also led the development of the company brand evolution strategy at SunTrust. She led the redesign of all marketing materials, managing the development of uniform graphics standards and visual brand strategies. Earlier in her career, she planned, developed, implemented and managed integrated marketing programs for Coca-Cola. Her interest is in full time and contract opportunities in Atlanta.
Q: Can you tell us about your business/career? What are you most proud of?
A: I have extensive experience in marketing, focused in brand strategy and integrated marketing programs in both B2B and B2C markets. I am a strategic leader, problem solver, critical thinker with analytical skills, creative, and collaborative. A career highlight is successfully leading the rebranding across two organizations which included the development of company purpose, strategy, overarching brand messaging and execution. I am most proud of my leadership style. I like to inspire teammates through effective communication and by creating an environment of teamwork. I have a passion for mentoring and providing guidance through hands-on learning.
Q: Has it been a smooth road? If not, can you talk us through some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced?
A: As with any road you will find bumps, cracks and potholes. A challenge in the world of marketing is every day is different. You are constantly staying current on trends and consumer insights. Marketing is continuously changing and I embrace the changes. If the road was smooth, it would be a boring ride!
Q: What is your dream job? What would you like to do next?
A: I am keeping an open mind when it comes to my next role. I would like an opportunity to use my experience to positively impact a company or brand with the opportunity to stay and continue to grow professionally.
